2006 2-Man Independence Day Scramble - sponsored by Superior Image Sportswear Pat Butler and Carl Lewis won the July 4th 48 team scramble with an adjusted score of 57. The tournament raised money for the repair and construction of the well, which will allow Squaw Creek to begin watering the fairways despite the drought. The highlight of the day was hearing JV's granddaughter, Teran, sing both patriotic songs and country classics including "Walking After Midnight" by Patsy Cline in the clubhouse after the round. Other top finishers included: Gross/Kerrick, Chapman/Lane, McGarrey/McGarrey, Watson/Sanders 2006 2-Man Championship Results - June 2 Greg Byrnes and Scott Howell won the A-Flight, while Hector Ramirez and Phillip Watson won the B-Flight of the annual 2-Man 666 championship at Squaw Creek. Despite shooting the best score, Keith Lee and Brett Forte finished 2nd after scores were adjusted. 2005 LMFW - LMGP Ryder Cup competition Squaw Creek Golf Course was host to the 2005 LMFW - LMGP Ryder Cup competition. 25 2-person teams from Fort Worth squared off against 25 2-person teams from Grand Prairie in what is planned on being an annual event. The event mirrored the US - Europe Ryder Cup matches. It consisted of 6 holes of two-ball (individual scoring), 6 holes of scramble, and 6 holes of alternate shot. FW Team Captain Bill Blackwell led his squad to a resounding 25-0 sweep of the match. "My team came prepared, both mentally and physically, for this match. I am extremely proud of their performance." Blackwell stated immediately following the match. GP Team Captain Jeff Weick wasn't nearly has happy with the results. "We got our rear-ends kicked all over the course, but we did win a few closest to the pin awards, and some real nice door prizes. But it sure will be a long drive back home."
